A brief introduction to the 26th Regiment Royal Artillery Association from the Secretary :
I would like to welcome you all to the 26 Regiment Royal Artillery Association website. How did it all start ? In 1993 I got a phone call asking if Sandra and I would like to go to a reunion to be held in Blackpool, of course I jumped at the chance to meet old friends and acquaintances from the past, it was whilst speaking to others at that reunion all saying "I wonder where so and so is now" and after so many asking the same question we formed a quick committee and I took on the roll of Secretary, we decided that we would find as many ex-members of the Regiment as was possible and have a reunion the following year at a place that could hold it.
The reunion was held at the Adelphi Hotel Liverpool on the 26th November 1994 where the Association was formed and the Charter approved by the members present. Which will tell you what we are here to do. This can be seen by clicking the icon below. Since that day we have grown in membership and currently have approximately 500 full members. Hopefully, this site will reach people in all parts of the world that either serve or have served in 26 Regiment Royal Artillery, whatever their cap badge might have been.
You will also find a full "up-to-date" list of members in the Members link. If your name does not appear on the list and you wish to become a member you can apply by simply downloading,
filling in and printing off the membership form and returning it to me with the once only
£5.00 membership fee.
We hold reunions bi-annually and the last one was in March 2008. It was a very successful get together of past and present members of the Regiment. This took place in Coventry where we were joined by 300 member's families and friends.
Therefore, if you would like to attend our next reunion in 2010, keep in touch with friends, read our news and interact with what the Association has to offer then ensure that this site is saved into your favourites. Be sure to log in every now and again to see who is chatting in The "SnakePit".
I have enjoyed being the Secretary over the past 16 years and can see this Association
growing even more with this website up and running.
